In our Gospel passage today, Jesus uses a parable to help us to imagine the final judgement. Where we will be judged on how we have cared for those who go without. "Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me." When asked when that was done the King responds, "whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me." I firmly believe that one of the most beautiful points of this passage is how the king identifies himself with the lowly, the suffering, those who know want and need. God unites himself to the poor and needy. He suffers with us when we suffer and understands what we go through because we do not go through it alone. He is with always until the end of the age. ............................................................................................................................................................. En el pasaje del Evangelio de hoy, Jesús utiliza una parábola para ayudarnos a imaginar el juicio final, en el que seremos juzgados por cómo hemos cuidado a los que pasan necesidad. “Vengan, benditos de mi Padre; tomen posesión del Reino preparado para ustedes desde la creación del mundo; porque estuve hambriento y me dieron de comer, sediento y me dieron de beber, era forastero y me hospedaron, estuve desnudo y me vistieron, enfermo y me visitaron, encarcelado y fueron a verme”. Cuando se le pregunta cuándo se hizo esto, el Rey responde: “cuando lo hicieron con el más insignificante de mis hermanos, conmigo lo hicieron”. Creo firmemente que uno de los puntos más hermosos de este pasaje es cómo el rey se identifica con los humildes, los que sufren, los que conocen la necesidad y la necesidad. Dios se une a los pobres y necesitados. Él sufre con nosotros cuando sufrimos y comprende lo que atravesamos porque no lo atravesamos solos. Él está siempre con nosotros hasta el fin de los tiempos.
