Over these next few days we read from the beginning of the book of Genesis. The story of creation has many beautiful, intriguing and profound lessons about God and about Man. It begins by reminding us that all of Creation is good but then answers the age old question of where evil comes from. I am often left reflecting upon the state of humanity should we not have sinned and why God would permit sin. One simple answer is that the world is better place that has sin in it. What can only exist if there is sin? The answer is forgiveness, forgiveness can only exist in a world that has sin in it. God saw the two possibilities, 1) a world with no sin but that also would never know forgiveness and 2) a world that has sin but in which people would forgive one another and seek the forgiveness of God. ............................................................................................................................................................. Durante los próximos días leemos desde el principio del libro de Génesis. La historia de la creación tiene muchas lecciones hermosas, intrigantes y profundas sobre Dios y sobre el hombre. Comienza recordándonos que toda la Creación es buena, pero luego responde la vieja pregunta de dónde viene el mal. A menudo me quedo reflexionando sobre el estado de la humanidad si no hubiéramos pecado y por qué Dios permitiría el pecado. Una respuesta simple es que el mundo es mejor lugar que tiene pecado en él. ¿Qué sólo puede existir si hay pecado? La respuesta es el perdón, el perdón solo puede existir en un mundo que tiene pecado. Dios vio las dos posibilidades, 1) un mundo sin pecado pero que tampoco conocería el perdón y 2) un mundo que tiene pecado pero en el cual las personas se perdonarían unas a otras y buscarían el perdón de Dios.
