Today's reading from act leaves me thinking about poor innocent St. Stephen. He did no wrong, in fact they had to lie to get people to turn against him. Why would they lie? They seemingly lied because of jealousy and pride. When they debated Stephen, they could not withstand the wisdom and and the Spirit that filled Stephen's words. So they lied and got others to do the same. Yet at teh same time we must remeber that the samething was done to Jesus. We must be ready to always live in teh Truth and not worry about what others think or what they do to us. “People hate the truth for the sake of whatever it is that they love more than the truth. They love truth when it shines warmly on them, and hate it when it rebukes them.” - St. Augustine .............................................................................................................................................................. La lectura del acto de hoy me deja pensando en el pobre e inocente San Esteban. No hizo nada malo, de hecho, tuvieron que mentir para que la gente se volviera en su contra. ¿Por qué mentirían? Aparentemente mintieron a causa de los celos y el orgullo. Cuando debatieron sobre Esteban, no pudieron resistir la sabiduría y el Espíritu que llenó las palabras de Esteban.
