"Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom..." In today's first reading we have the first Ordination of 7 deacons to assist the Apostles, the priests, in their duties of administration and charitable works. They are said to be men of good repute filled with Spirit and Wisdom. Much like our scripture passage this morning; last Saturday, Bishop Burbidge ordained 7 men of good repute from our diocese to the Diaconate. They are, Rev. Mr. Phillip Briggs, Rev. Mr. Peter Clem, Rev. Mr. John O'Farrell, Rev. Mr. Robby Renner, Rev. Mr. Daniel Reuwer, Rev. Mr. Daniel Rice, and Rev. Mr. Peter St. George. In just over a year from now they God willing will be ordained to teh Priesthood, but for the next 14 months they will serve as deacons, baptizing, preaching, caring for the needy, assisting at the altar and bringing communion to the sick and homebound. Please join me in praying for them and in thanking God for their service. Rev. Mr. Peter St. George will be at Christ the Redeemer the next two weekends and most of the masses. Se dice que son hombres de buena reputación llenos de Espíritu y Sabiduría.
