(Tomorrow is Divine Mercy Sunday. Come to the parish for a Holy Hour, Bilingual Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Confessions from 3:00-4:00pm.) Our Gospel passage today reminds us that when Jesus had risen from the dead, He appeared to Mary Magdalene and then she went and told the apostles and disciple what she saw. Then He appeared to the two on the road to Emmaus and they went and told the apostles and disciples what they saw. Jesus eventually then appears to the apostles and disciples themselves and then commands them to "Go into the world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature." So when the Sanhedrin ordered Peter and John, Apostles of the Risen Lord, "not to speak or to teach at all in the name of Jesus;" what do you all think was their response? "It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard." Can we be quiet about the Resurrection? Are we not called to be witnesses to all whom we encounter? May our very lives proclaim the truth of the Gospel, namely that, Jesus Christ, Son of God, suffered, died and then rose from the dead! Nuestro pasaje del Evangelio de hoy nos recuerda que cuando Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, se le apareció a María Magdalena y luego ella fue y les dijo a los apóstoles y discípulos lo que vio. Luego se apareció a los dos en el camino a Emaús y ellos fueron y les dijeron apóstoles y discípulos lo que vieron. Finalmente, Jesús se aparece a los apóstoles y discípulos y luego les ordena "ir al mundo y proclamar el Evangelio a toda criatura". Entonces, cuando el Sanedrín ordenó a Pedro y a Juan, Apóstoles del Señor Resucitado, que no hablaran ni enseñaran en absoluto en el nombre de Jesús: "¿Cuál creen ustedes que fue su respuesta?" Es imposible para nosotros no hablar sobre qué hemos visto y escuchado. "¿Podemos callarnos acerca de la resurrección? ¿No estamos llamados a ser testigos de todos los que encontramos?
