For over 40 years, CTR was supported by Good Samaritan Council which was chartered out of St. Joseph’s church Herndon, VA in 1969. As the Sterling community grew, so did the Council purchasing “The Barn” in the 70's and growing to support the parishes of St. Joe's, CTR, and later St. Theresa’s in Ashburn. That trend changed in late 2000’s with the sale of the Barn and the newly formed council at St. Theresa’s.
In June 2015, thanks to the willingness and acceptance of our Pastor, Fr. Cogan we established “Christ the Redeemer Council #16234” here at our own parish. Many long time CTR and Good Sam’s members have been involved in that transition. To date, we have 34 charter members. We will be focused on the needs of the Council and how we can best support our Parish and our Priests, and are actively recruiting members for our Council’s efforts.
