Rally is a huge diocesan event for 9th-12th graders to gather for fun (giant inflatable games, contests, and tons of food) and faith (Mass with the Bishop, Eucharistic adoration and confession, inspirational speakers, music, and breakout session talks on all kinds of topics related to our Catholic faith).
Each January our diocese hosts an evening of prayer at GMU's Eagle Bank Arena the night before the March for Life. Join with thousands of teens from around our diocese and all over the country to listen to inspiring pro-life speakers, to pray together for an end to abortion, and to praise our Lord in Eucharistic adoration. The LIVG Evening of Prayer is an opportunity to pray for the success of the March for Life in changing our hearts and those of others in this country. This is a great way to play an active role as a member of the Pro-Life Generation.
Each June the Diocese of Arlington youth office hosts an incredible service opportunity called WorkCamp. It's open to high school students who have completed 9th grade through those who have just graduated. Hundreds of teens and adult volunteers spend a week repairing and renovating homes for people challenged physically, mentally, financially, or just in need of some help. Mass is offered every morning. The evening programs include lots of music, inspiring talks, prayer, and fun. Many teens look forward to returning each year of high school for this life changing experience.
WorkCamp 2021 was yet another version of our traditional WorkCamp due to the COVID-19 pandemic; it was parish formed and lasted 4 days. Instead of the Diocese of Arlington forming crews with other teens from across the diocese, it was parish formed. CTR had 3 crews working on multiple projects within our community. In the evenings, we met with other crews within the area at Bishop O'Connell High School for the evening program. During the evening program, youth had the chance to have dinner, spend time with their friends, listen to motivational speakers, play games, go to confession and an opportunity to attend adoration of the Blessed Sacrament!
We are so excited that the Diocese is looking forward to a traditional WorkCamp for 2022! A week long overnight experience with more than 800 students in attendance from June 18th through the 24th of June, 2022. Registration opens December 6th!
