All church volunteers who have substantial contact with children need to comply with the Diocesan Office of Child Protection and Safety. New catechists/volunteers should complete the necessary forms and attend a VIRTUS Training.

• Forms are available from the Parish and RE Offices, but can also be downloaded as the Child Protection Packet from the Links to the right.
• VIRTUS Training is available at different parish locations throughout the year. The Forms and attendance at VIRTUS should be done within 45 days of each other. Read this Addendum Link for an overview.

• Journey to Emaus: The video version of this program may provide helpful conversation starters or class wrap-ups. It was developed for high school ministry, but could be used for middle school as well.
• The Role of Teachers in Awakening Vocations: This is a short handbook that helps educators increase vocational awareness in their teaching methods and in their encouragement and development of student qualities and skills.
