St. Francis of Assisi is one of the most misquoted saints that I have encountered, Being an avid reader, I enjoy the search for primary sources. So many of the things attributed to St. Francis of Assis are things he never wrote nor said. Since he had a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and since it is the month of October which is the month dedicated the Rosary, I thought it might be nice to see one of the prayers he wrote in praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary. “Hail, O Lady, Holy Queen, Mary, holy Mother of God, who are the Virgin made Church, chosen by the most Holy Father in heaven whom he consecrated with His most holy beloved Son and with the Holy Spirit the Paraclete, in whom there was and is all fullness of grace and every good. Hail His Palace! Hail His Tabernacle! Hail His Dwelling! Hail His Robe! Hail His Servant! Hail His Mother! San Francisco de Asís es uno de los santos más mal citados que he encontrado. Siendo un ávido lector, disfruto la búsqueda de fuentes primarias. Muchas de las cosas atribuidas a San Francisco de Asís son cosas que nunca escribió ni dijo. Como tenía una gran devoción a la Santísima Virgen María y como es el mes de octubre que es el mes dedicado al Rosario, pensé que sería bueno ver una de las oraciones que escribió en alabanza a la Santísima Virgen María. “Dios te salve, Señora, Reina Santa, María, Madre santa de Dios, que eres la Virgen hecha Iglesia, escogida por el Santísimo Padre celestial a quien consagró con Su Santísimo Hijo amado y con el Espíritu Santo Paráclito, en quien hubo y hay toda plenitud de gracia y todo bien. ¡Salve su palacio! ¡Salve, tabernáculo suyo! ¡Salve su morada! ¡Salve su manto! ¡Salve, siervo suyo! Dios te salve, madre. Y saludad todas vuestras santas virtudes que sois derramadas en el corazón de los fieles por la gracia y la iluminación del Espíritu Santo, para que de ser incrédulos, los hagáis fieles a Dios ”.
