Today we are beginning a new book of the bible, 2 Thessalonians. Though we will only spend a couple of days on it, nevertheless it is a very important lesson. St. Paul wrote this letter to clear up some misconceptions from his first letter. Paul’s first letter focused on trying to convince the Thessalonians that Jesus will come again to lead us to Himself. Apparently he did such a good job of convincing them of the second coming that the community stopped working and just began to sit around waiting for Christ to come again. There were 2 errors Paul had to correct and why he wrote the 2nd letter. First that we don’t know when Christ will come or how soon it will be. Secondly, we do not stop living our lives here in this world simply because we long to go to heaven. ........................................................................................................................................................ Hoy comenzamos un nuevo libro de la Biblia, 2 Tesalonicenses. Aunque sólo dedicaremos un par de días a estudiarlo, es una lección muy importante. San Pablo escribió esta carta para aclarar algunos conceptos erróneos de su primera carta. La primera carta de Pablo se centró en tratar de convencer a los tesalonicenses de que Jesús vendría de nuevo para guiarnos hacia Él. Aparentemente hizo un trabajo tan bueno al convencerlos de la segunda venida que la comunidad dejó de trabajar y simplemente comenzó a sentarse a esperar que Cristo viniera de nuevo. Había dos errores que Pablo tuvo que corregir y por qué escribió la segunda carta. Primero, que no sabemos cuándo vendrá Cristo ni qué tan pronto será. Segundo, no dejamos de vivir nuestras vidas aquí en este mundo simplemente porque anhelamos ir al cielo.
