Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church Priest In Residence, Fr. Thomas Gumprecht, SA. passed into eternal life on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Christ the Redeemer on Wednesday, June 27 at 10:00am followed by a coffee and donut reception. All are welcome. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Friary Chapel at Graymoor in Garrison, NY. Interment will take place on a date to be determined at St. Andrew the Apostle Church Columbarium, Apex, NC. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

Easter is a joyous season to celebrate the Great 50 Days to the Feast of Pentecost. While all around us the world turns to signs of Spring and new life, we remember the renewal of our Baptismal Promises and the joys that the newest members share with our community.
Ahead of us, FIRST COMMUNIONS will be celebrated at our parish and ADULT CONFIRMATIONS at the Cathedral in Arlington.
As we take in these "high points" of our Liturgical Year, let us remember to make plans to ENROLL OUR CHILDREN in RELIGIOUS EDUCATION for RE 2018-2019. Forms are available in the RE Office for those who are currently finishing up their RE 2017-18 Year. Please stop by during RE to enroll your child for next year. WE ALSO NEED CATECHISTS AND VOLUNTEERS in order for the coming year to be a success.

All young people, catholic or not, ages 16-29, are encouraged to take this survey, which will be used to help Pope Francis in October 2018 when he convenes a General Assembly of Bishops on the theme: Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment. Wednesday, November 1 is the Feast of All Saints. It is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses in English are at 8:00 am, 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm in the Church. Spanish Mass will be held at 7:30 pm in Atonement Hall. All Souls Day Masses on Thursday, November 2 are at 8:00 am in English and 7:00 pm in Spanish. Mass for the Deceased of the Parish will be on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 pm. Call Cristina in the Parish Office at 703-430-0811 if you would like to have someone remembered at this Mass.
The Confirmation Mass with Bishop Michael Francis Burbidge will be on Tuesday, October 24th at 7:00 PM. Over a hundred Confirmation Candidates with their sponsors and families are expected to attend. Final preparations are underway.

Runners in Grades K-12 are invited to join Our Lady of Hope's Cross Country Team. Runners will have several opportunities to participate in races throughout the fall season.
